To all Wwoofers - If you are undecided or unsure about Wwoofing at our farm please do not book with us. If you book with us and then change your mind it will not give the opportunity to other Wwoofers.

The most common questions we get asked by WWOOFERS are : Where is Saturna Island? When can I Wwoof there? What kind of work? Where do I eat and sleep? What kind of things can I do?

We will answer them here and if you have any other questions just e-mail them. It is also helpful if you can provide us with a bit of information about yourself. Also, we require your Wwoof Canada registration number from the front of your Wwoof handbook.

WHERE? Breezy Bay Farm, located on Saturna Island (southernmost of the Canadian Gulf Islands) situated between Vancouver and Victoria B.C. It is quite rural here on Saturna. If you love nature and such activities as hiking Saturna is a very good place to be.

WHEN? We take Wwoofers all year but April to October is when we need the most help. We prefer longer stays, 1 month or more.

WHAT KIND OF WORK WILL I DO? We base our work time on 5 hours a day, 5 days per week. Most jobs here require physical effort and involve gardening and tending the herb plants, picking and processing the farm produce and helping care for our ducks and chickens. In the summer we work 3 hours in the morning and two in the evening. There is field maintenance work, fencing and building. It is best that you have had some physical work experience.

WHERE WILL I EAT? All food is provided and cooked in our home. You will cook your own breakfast and lunch. Kitchen work and help with dinner is required. We have had many Asian visitors, mainly Japanese and Korean, and have become big fans of the foods of these countries.

WHERE WILL I SLEEP? You will have your own room in a separate building and the washroom and shower facilities are shared.

WHAT CAN I DO IN MY TIME OFF? Saturna has many interesting sights to see and lots of hiking opportunities. You can also take one of the bicycles we have available and explore the Island by road. If you like the water you can learn to use one of our row boats and we also play badminton. If you are taking any courses, Saturna is a great place to study. You can also rent Kayaks on Saturna. HOW DO I GET THERE? If you are coming from the Vancouver area you will go to the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal and catch the Gulf Islands Ferry. You will be transferring from a large ferry to a smaller on at Village Bay on Mayne Island. Be sure to check with the Ferry crew to make sure you are getting on and off at the right places. To get to Tsawwassen Terminal from Vancouver check the links for bus information. If you are coming from the Victoria area on Vancouver Island you will catch the Gulf Islands Ferry at Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal. This ferry comes all the way to Saturna with no transfers necessary. There may be one or more stops at other Islands but you will stay on the same ferry all the way to Saturna. To get to Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal check the links to bus information. Once you arrive at Saturna we will pick you up at the ferry dock.

＊ Breezy Bay Farm（ブリジィ　ベイ　ファーム）という名前で経営していて、場所はsaturna island(サトゥラナ　アイランド)という小さな島で、バンクーバーとビクトリアの間にあります。自然が豊かでハイキングなどに最適な場所です。

質問②　農園の忙しい時期はいつ？　どのくらい滞在していいの？

＊私たちは一年を通してwwooferのみなさんに手伝っていただいていますが、４月～１０月の６ヶ月間が一番忙しい時期です。

＊私たちはwwooferのみなさんに１ヶ月以上の滞在を希望していますが、まずはみなさんのご希望の滞在期間を私たちにお知らせください。

＊みなさんには１日５時間（９時～１２時、１３時～１５時）、５日/週の業務をしていただいています。

＊主な仕事はハーブ（多種）や有機野菜栽培などとその出荷に伴う一連の業務です。また、鶏（１４匹）とアヒル（１５匹）の飼育があります。

毎日私たちがその日の業務を時期や天候など考慮ながらお願いしています。

　　　　これらの業務は、みなさんにとって貴重な体験ができると確信しています。

＊私たちのダイニングで、みなさんと私たちは一緒に食事をします

朝食と昼食は、みなさんに自炊していただいていますが（食材は自由に使ってもらっています）、夕食はみなさんに少し手伝っていただき、私たちが調理しています。

食事の種類は、時々日本食や韓国料理など色々ですが、私たちがネイティブカナディアンですのでカナダの家庭料理を是非食べていただきたいです。

　　　＊　みなさんが宿泊できるドミトリーがあります。私たちのドミトリーは、各個室８畳前後です。温水シャワーとトイレも別々に完備しています。みなさんには共同に使用していただいています。

＊　この島にはとても景色のいいハイキングのできる場所が沢山ありますので、興味のある方には最適です。また、みなさんは自転車（マウンテンバイク）を使うこともできます。他に、コートがありますのでバトミントン、プライベートビーチで小さなボートを漕いだり、カヤックを借りて遊ぶスポットもあり楽しい休日が過ごせるかと思います。

Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal （トサワッセンフェリーターミナル）で　The Gulf Island（グルフ　アイランド）行きのフェリーに乗船します。途中、Mayne Island（マイネ　アイランド）という島で小さなフェリーに乗り換え、その後Saturna Islandで下船してください。

（乗り換えの料金は既にTsawwassen 乗り場のチケットに含まれています）乗り換えの際にはアナウンスも流れますが、必ずフェリースタッフに確認してください。

　　　　　　バンクーバーダウンタウンからTsawwasen Ferry Terminal には、No,９８バス（Burad station近く）に乗り、airport stationでNo,６２０バス（Tsawwassen 行き）に乗り換えるとフェリー乗り場に到着します。３ゾーン料金です。
